Target to start labeling carbon monoxide-treated meat

Target has announced that it will start requiring its meat vendors to label meat that has been treated with carbon monoxide.
Carbon monoxide is used to make meat appear to look fresher. According to the post, the new labeling will read "Color is not an accurate indicator of freshness. Refer to use or freeze by date."
