There's been a number of stories in the past few days on the spread of pythons that have been released into the wild by pet owners. The stories follow the release of a report from the United States Geological Survey predicting that the snakes could eventually cover one-third of the United States due to global warming. The snakes pose a danger to native and endangered wildlife as well as humans. Here's a few of the links:
- Burmese pythons making themselves at home (United Pres International).
- Pythons could squeeze lower third of USA (USA Today).
- Bad news du jour: giant snakes (Dallas Morning News).
- Pythons spread beyond Glades (Miami Herald).
