A few days ago, I posted links to a number of Senate Bills that have been introduced for the upcoming legislative session that deal with animals. I'll send out a similar list this weekend on the House Bills, but in the interim here's an article on one of them from News 13 WMBB in Panama City. The story addresses legislation called the "Getrude Maxwell Save A Pet Act." The Act is designed to raise funds to make spaying and neutering services more available to help control Florida's pet population. The article notes that over 800,000 unwanted dogs and cats are put to death each year in Florida because they have no home. Another article on the bill is available here from the Palm Beach Daily News.
