The Orlando Sentinel reports here that Deltona has reluctantly dropped plans to try to enforce a local ordinance preventing the ownership of dangerous reptiles. After researching their legal footing, the city determined that the state-level laws regarding the ownership and licensing of poisonous snakes pose a risk that local laws would be preempted.
