Gopher tortoise rules still unsettled

The Lakeland Ledger reports that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will be holding a meeting on January 25th in Gainesville to get public input on the proposed rules that would implement tougher enforcement standards and permitting requirements for protecting gopher tortoises. The meeting will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Doyle Conner Building, Division of Plant Industry Auditorium, 1911 Southwest 34th Street.
