Lawsuits filed against organic milk producer

The Rocky Mountain News reports on two lawsuits filed by the Cornucopia Institute against Aurora Organic Dairy, one of the largest organic milk producers in the country. The lawsuits seek class-action status for consumers in 27 states for allegedly misleading consumers by selling milk labeled as organic event though the dairy doesn't meet federal standards. Aurora officials responded that their organic certifications are valid and there is no basis to the claims.

Back in August, the Orlando Sentinel had reported on criticisms against organic milk producers, including Aurora. Additional stories on the lawsuits are available here, here, and here.
